2020 / 91 puntos
The 2020 Neno, the regional Godello from a diversity of villages within Valdeorras, fermented with neutral yeasts to respect the varietal character of the grape. It has 13.5% alcohol and mellow acidity, and it's quite primary and still a little reductive. It's varietal, clean and fruit-driven, and it has a round and gentle palate. 40,000 bottles were produced. It was bottled in December 2021.
2018 / 91 puntos
The only white from 2018 is the regional Godello 2018 Neno, produced with the grapes from different villages and soils that represent the character of Godello in Valdeorras. It fermented with natural yeasts to avoid any makeup and matured in a combination of stainless steel and oak containers for some six months. 2018 is a year with good balance between acidity and structure. This could be a little lighter and fresher than 2017, perhaps more in the style of 2016. It's very clean and fresh, more toward the herbal side of the variety, and it had a little less maceration with the skins, which may result in a little less complexity and less freshness. The grapes ripened properly with a longer cycle, and the bitter touch in the finish is very subtle. 40,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2019.
