Color amarillo. Limpio y brillante.
Fruta madura, hierbas de tocador, flores secas.
Equilibrado, fino amargor, especiado, largo.
Añada 2019 > 93+ puntos > The top white 2019 Piesdescalzos was bottled the month before I tasted it next to the 2018, which for now is the benchmark in elegance and finesse. 2019 was a warmer year than 2018, and the change this time was that it fermented in a 1,200-liter Stockinger oak foudre with indigenous yeasts instead of in barriques like in the past. It matured with the lees in the foudre for a period of 12 months and was bottled unfiltered. It has similar alcohol as 2018—a restrained 13% (a good point of balance)—and has good freshness. It has has aromas of white flowers and jasmine and has volume but is also a very grainy and mineral with a bitter twist in the finish. I believe this follows the line of the 2017. 1,617 bottles and 18 magnums were filled in October 2020.
