Color amarillo dorado, limpio y brillante.
Notas cítricas, flores de almendro.
Intenso, mineral, salino.
2016 > 91 puntos
A serious white produced with old-vine Albillo Mayor (and some 10% other white grapes that are found in the old vineyards), the 2016 Alba Vides is produced in a very Burgundian way that somehow reminded me of the one produced at Dominio del Águila, the leading producer in the same village. The full clusters were pressed and the juice fermented in barrels with indigenous yeasts. The wine matured in French oak barrels for 12 months. It has contained ripeness (13.5% alcohol) and good freshness, notes of yellow fruit, spices and smoke and some yeasty undertones. The palate is round but fresh, balanced and tasty. 800 bottles were filled in September 2017. A cask sample of the 2018 was very promising with even more freshness and better-integrated wood; they have started using some chestnut barrels. Stay tuned...
