Añada 2018 < 93 puntos < The 2018 La Tinaja de Aránzazu was produced with grapes from two vineyards, Paraje Mina and the vineyard that originates Coccinella, each fermented in a clay pot (tinaja) and then blended together after the élevage, which was separate and lasted for almost one year. In the past, it was only one tinaja from Paraje Mina, but this 2018 is a blend of the two. The clay always lowers the acidity, so they added grapes with higher acidity. The wine feels more complete and round, and it's the best vintage of this amphora cuvée to date; it has a metallic sensation and a bit of an earthy touch, with the classic saline finish of the wines at this address. It feels like clay makes wines more immediate, that evolve at a faster pace. Only 545 bottles were filled in June 2019.
